Fees

60 Minute Counselling Session $120 inc.GST

An individual Counselling session is normally 60 minutes via face-to-face at our Victor Harbor office or via telehealth video. If you would like a telehealth appointment please let us know. (90 Minute sessions by negotiation). The counselling fee can be paid via EFTPOS. Full payment is required at the end of each session.

Private health rebates are currently not available.

NDIS Counselling

Self Managed and Plan Managed NDIS clients will be invoiced in line with the current NDIS rates.

Who do you offer counselling too?

Horizon Counselling offers support to adults over 18 years old who want to talk about personal issues that are concerning them.

How much is a counselling session?

The fee for a 60 minute counselling session is $120 inc.GST.

NDIS Counselling for Self Managed or Plan Managed Clients is invoiced inline with current NDIS Pricing arrangements.

Is counselling covered by Medicare?

Medicare does NOT cover the cost of counselling at this stage.

How long does a counselling session last?

A counselling session is 60 minutes.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

You do not need a referral from your doctor for a counselling appointment.

Can I use a Mental Health Care Plan from my doctor?

Counselling is not currently covered by Medicare and therefore Mental Health Care Plans are not able to be used to access sessions at Horizon Counselling.

Is Horizon Counselling an NDIS provider?

Horizon Counselling is a Non-Registered Provider, and can only accept Self Managed or Plan Managed NDIS Participants. If you are Plan Managed, contact your Plan Manager to check your funding for Core and Capacity Building Funding. Our rates are in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements. (previously called the NDIS Price Guide).

What payment options are available?

The counselling fee can be paid via EFTPOS. Full payment is required at the end of each session.

NDIS clients will be invoiced as required.

What if I need to talk to someone after hours?

Horizon Counselling does not offer a 24 hour emergency service.

If in a mental health emergency, please contact your local medial centre, hospital or GP.

Are my counselling sessions confidential?

Yes they are, however, I am legally required to breach confidentiality for the following reasons:

If a child under the age of 18 years is at risk of serious harm, neglect or abuse.
Where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
If subpoenaed by a court of law.

Can I have an appointment via Telehealth?

Yes. Horizon Counselling offers Telehealth via a secure video connection. Please advise at time of booking your appointment if this is required.

Can I book an appointment online?

Currently all appointments must be made via phone or by using the contact us form.
